Our chocolate café is perfect for when our chocolate tastings without reservation don’t match your schedule or when you only have limited time in Ghent. It is a great way to complement a day of sightseeing, as we are just a short walk away from Gravensteen castle, Graslei & Korenlei. Whether you’re looking for a quick sweet treat or a relaxed stop between your Ghent adventures, our café offers a cozy atmosphere for a chocolate break.
Enjoy a curated selection of the best chocolates from our different chocolatiers, all presented on one plate, allowing you to explore and discover your favorite Belgian chocolate style. For the ultimate indulgence, pair your tasting with a rich hot chocolate made from one of our 70% single-origin chocolates. Or, when the Belgian sun finally decides to stop playing hide-and-seek, try one of our refreshing cacao(fruit)drinks- a playful twist on classic recipes. In summertime we also offer two delightful ice cream flavors:“1635” (chocolate) and “Forbidden Fruit” (cacao fruit): a result of our collaboration with BAS ICE CREAM.

FAQ
The café experience takes place in a cozy, intimate room at the back of our shop, with only 8 seats available to ensure a personal experience. In the summer months, or when the weather permits, you can also enjoy your time on our terrace, offering a beautiful view of the historic center of Ghent.
Children are very welcome to join! While we do not have a special menu for children, our regular options are generally kid-approved. As our tasting room is cozy, and to ensure a pleasant experience for all our guests, we kindly ask that participating children are able to sit quietly and attentively throughout the tasting. Please also note that we do not have infant seats available.
Our tasting room and shop are located in a historical building, which features a small step at the entrance. While this may pose a minor challenge, it is possible to enter with a wheelchair with a little help. We are always happy to assist in making your visit as comfortable as possible.
Absolutely! If you wish to purchase any of the chocolates you’ve tasted, you are welcome to do so—but there’s no obligation. If you’d like, we’re happy to offer personalized recommendations based on your tasting preferences or assist in finding the perfect gift.
Take-away is possible only for the drinks.

” Sitting outside Chocolade Ambassade and enjoying their dark hot chocolate was one of the best experiences my girlfriend and I had in Ghent (which is saying something, considering how great the trip was). The hot chocolate is really delicious with a truly unique taste and a perfect temperature. The mix we had was from India and very strong (in all the right ways). We also ordered a chocolate sample platter and Liu was kind enough to tell us about the process and history of each piece on the platter. Honestly, talking with Liu about hot chocolate was really interesting and fun. He was a very kind man who made the whole experience event better. Great people, great hot chocolate, great prices.
